Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu said the Centre would take “very, very strict action” against the airline, making it clear that the response would be firm enough to set a precedent for the entire aviation industry.
The minister explained that the widespread flight cancellations and delays were the result of internal mismanagement, particularly in crew scheduling and rostering, and were not linked to any technical fault. He stressed that airlines are responsible for managing their operations efficiently and ensuring passengers are not left stranded due to avoidable lapses.
Naidu also highlighted the implementation of the Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, noting that the rules were introduced in phases after detailed consultations with all airlines. He underlined that these safety regulations are non-negotiable and aimed at preventing pilot fatigue and improving overall flight safety.
